SMPTE RIT Student Chapter Holodeck Project

The Holodeck Project was developed by a team of SMPTE student members led by myself, as President/Chairman of the SMPTE RIT Student Chapter, and Sean Cooper, as Project Manager. The intent of this project was to provide a unique experience that allowed a camera to have a real-time rendered scene change based on the cameras positioning. The final product utilized an extended display across perpendicular screens with a scene rendered in real time through the Unity game engine, with camera positional information generated through a Playstation Move. For the ImagineRIT event in May 2014, the system was repurposed to act as a virtual reality experience by placing people in the scene rather than a camera.
